The Oregon City Library Foundation has received a $30,000 community grant from the Jerome S. and Barbara Bischoff Library Subfund and the Ashley K. Drew Foundation Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. The grant will assist with the renovation and expansion of the 100-year old Carnegie Library.

A grant certificate was presented at the Oregon City Commission meeting on December 2, 2015, by representatives from the Oregon Community Foundation. In accepting the award, OC Library Foundation chair, Karen Martini, noted that “This grant has value beyond the dollars it provides. A grant from OCF is a vote of confidence, lending credibility to the campaign and leading the way by example for other potential funders.”

The grant will be used for construction of the Oregon City Library expansion. It is part of a $500,000 capital campaign launched by the Oregon City Library Foundation to support and enhance the new library facility. Library Foundation funding will cap off the building budget with $250,000, allow for more than $100,000 in enhancements not included in the original construction plan, and create a fund that will support the library into the future.
