PROGRESS

Projects Completed

The OC Library Foundation made a commitment to the City of Oregon City to assist with construction costs associated with the renovation and building of our new library space. It did just that. More than $500,000 was contributed to the campaign, resulting in the fulfillment of that pledge.

The OC Library Foundation has made commitments to or already provided the following:

  • $241,000 to help the City with the original building project

  • $55,000 to build the book collection, which will add more than 2,500 books!

  • $27,252 to create the outdoor reading circle

  • $20,261 to redo the Carnegie entry stairs

  • $15,705 to purchase a laptop charging cart with laptops for library staff use

  • $8,023 to build the replicated card catalog & donor wall

  • $3,500 to purchase a 3D printer with software and supplies

  • $2,000 to purchase coding robots for children

In 2022, the OC Library Foundation was able to:

  • provide funding for the Everbrite interactive board in the children's area

  • sponsor "Dance Dance Oregon City," the first of many library activities designed to serve and engage the community

  • support "1,000 Books Before Kindergarten," a program to enhance childhood literacy and connect families with our library

  • and continue our partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
